A Bunch of Updates!

Whew! It's been a crazy couple of months since my last update. My kids & I got through the year without a textbook (long story short, changed to Florida's version of the Common Core standards, but the textbook companies weren't quite ready) and are gearing up for a bunch of math projects. I'm flat out bribing them right now....do well on The Terrific Tortoise Habitat (a freebie from Horizons) and I'll buy The City of Shapes (by Teaching with a Mountain View). What they don't know is that I have every intention of buying the City one - it looks too awesome! :)

Right before testing, my kiddos saw that they needed more practice than what we had for finding angles given a fraction of a circle, so this little baby was born:

And then, after battling them with converting measurements (honestly, they had it one second and as soon as I changed units it was gone!), I decided they needed more practice and created these sets.

Since I have a feeling there are a lot of students that need to practice all three types of units, I've also bundled them together.

Boom would be a great way to use that task card bundle. Check out the Boom Freebie from Rachel Lynette's store. All you need is an oatmeal container & 2 pages printed from her packet and you have an instant center that the kids A.) Never tire of B.) Always know how to play. I hate seeing kids waste center time reading through directions and trying to figure out the game...
